Edit: Brighter flame, blended a bit more

Yet another commission from Gaia. Once again, this order is from like half a year ago.
I have had the worst of luck with this one too. To begin with, it was one of those pictures I could not seem to get right. (It's why I haven't finished Zoe's picture yet, which I am still working on and still trying to make look good)
Anyway, this was try number seven. No lie. Of those other six tries, only two remain. They were garbage. I lost two when my computer got a virus, and the other two when the power went out. Wow.

So then I got to this one. It was my seventh time drawing the same thing, so I figured I would try something new for a change. I was going crazy blending skin tones and started doodleing, sketching everything in with black. Then out of boredom I smeared it out into shadows. Then I realized it didn't look too bad. What if I tried putting color on another layer with a different setting? Tada! It works so well, I 'm definitely going to do this again.

Honestly, I have never drawn something so realistic so easily. Now that said, I do recognize problems with this. I would appreciate critique if you have some to offer, but there are a few things I just stopped fretting about as I was drawing and still have problems with. Oh wellz.
