. . . >_< Okay, yeah it's a Cockatrice (a very ice one, I might add). Yeah, Basilisks are total snakes (how else would it fit through the pipes?). And yeah, the Cockatrice is better, because the Basilisk dies at the crow of a rooster.

u r all wrong!!!! (i think...) The basilisk is based on a lizard who runs on water (or vice versa). The cry of a chicken kills the mythologic basilisk. the cockatrice is a whole other creature.

nice pic, but cockatrice indeed. HP still got basilisk wrong. They are more link reptilian centapides, with 4 or 3 legs on each side of its body. I do like picture though.

But this Cockatrice still owns the HP basilisk, cause it will die imediately by the scream of a Cockatrice or something like that... There is also a third description of the basilisk, were it looks more lik a huge salamander.

um actually the basilisk looks like the one in harry potter what you drew here is called a cockatrice i am studying dragons and other mythical creatures for an english paper and this is most defintely a cocktrice ^.^
