I haven't kept up with any mainstream comics in years (TMNT is and the occasional Hellboy is all I've read as of recent), but from what I can remember while browsing Wikipedia, she's a Kryptonian and an alternate timeline Supergirl or something like that. Bah... comic books having 40,000 different timelines boggle my mind.

Very good job with the image, though! Looks great!

Wow, the lines for this are still really awesome, and the coloring and shading more so. I really like the hints of musculature left on her; tough, but not too tough. :) Her expression, too, and her hair, are really nicely done~
