Yup, he was a sword genius, once he learned that he was left-handed. XDIt just comes from reading them. XD I actually encountered the first book in like 2006, so I had read it long before the movie. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of the sequels and stuff till much later (the first book doesn't seem like it would have a sequel).
