Welcome, children to 'art with Feral-chan'. Why you'd be watching is beyond me, but whatever. Let's start the lesson.
Step 1: Draw an upside-down egg shape, and put one curved line down the middle. Then, draw three gently curved lines going across. Make sure the top line is slightly further away from the middle line than the bottom one is. Then draw two lines sprouting from the bottom of your 'egg'. This will serve as the neck.
Step 2: Draw in the outline of your eye. You don't have to draw it like I have, but if you want to then that's cool too. But try to develop your own style of eye. It can tell a lot about your character as well as yourself. ^_^ I have only drawn 1 eye in because I'm lazy and because I just want this to be quick. ^_^' Also, I have added a guide-line for a hairline here. You do not have to add this (I very VERY rarely add one) but I have added it just in case it is your first time drawing a human head - it might come in handy.
Step 3: Start to draw in the iris. This will be drawn as a backwards 'J' for both eyes. (Unless the light is hitting your characters from the other side, in which case it will look like a normal 'J'. Make sure that the end of the 'J' to the far right-hand-side goes only slightly over the middle line.
Step 4: Draw in the top of the eye. This isn't really that hard to do. Just make sure that the top of this only touches the top of the middle line.
Step 5: Ok, now we can start adding in facial details, such as the expression and what-not. I usually draw the nose just a little way off the central line, but you can put it as close/as far away as you wish. I draw eyebrows as a thin line, but you may make them thicker if you really want to. Eyebrows are drawn from the top line that you used to draw your eyes (Well... Usually, anyway.). The mouth (If you are just doing a basic expression) is a line with a part in the middle and a small line under the gap (This will act as the jaw-line).
Step 6: Now we can start adding in the hair. Try not to exceed the hairline that you've given yourself.
Step 7: STOP!!!!!! Before you do any more of the hair, you might want to put in an ear. I don't usually do human ears, so I've put in an elf one for you (How kind of me! ^_^). Elf ears are drawn as a line going away from your middle eye-line, down past the bottom eye-line to about the neck (Try not to make this too sharp. It ruins the elven look) then back up to the bottom eye-line after you have got to the neck...
Step 8: ... From here you may finish the hair.
Step 9: Ok, so you've finish the details (I forgot that little 'V' on the neck. That 'V' is just to show that there is hair just behind the ear. This is usually pretty useful, as you character will look very strange without it - unless they're bald.), so ink them in CAREFULLY. WARNING!!! I WILL ONLY SAY THIS ONCE!!! Do NOT - under any circumstances - draw in the guide-lines!!! These will NOT be part of the finished product and if you ink them in, you'll have to start all over again!!!!
Step 10: Rub out the pencil lines and colour it in then YOU'RE DONE!!! Go give yourself a pat on the back, a cookie, or both. ^_^
To InternalDemons: I know you didn't ask for a tutorial, but I can't really explain guide-lines on their own and also I know some people who might find a tutorial useful. So really I'm killing two birds with one stone. ^_^' I hope you get the guide-lines now. ^w^
