Earth Day 2012- Baby Sunny on a Leaf

When I was a baby,
I was always resting outside
A giant leaf was a cradle
The trees gave me shade
The wind always whispered its lullaby to me
And I'd fall asleep

A while later,
It started to rain
It woke me up
And I'd start to cry
The sight of purple flowers calmed me
And a smile was on my face

A few moments after that,
My mom cradled me in her arms
She sang a lullaby
as she gently rocked me to sleep
As the warm sunlight stroked my face
I'd close my eyes once more...


Yes, I wrote that free-verse poem, it's about Sunny (as a 12-year-old) trying to remember what life was like when she was a baby :D
