actually. you should start with an oval shape and meat the head shape for whatever style you're trying to draw out from there. try a how to draw book

I like it! I do use the dividin' the face with the lines and stuff. Looks like it worked out pretty good for you.

Nifty! Are you teaching yourself out of one of those "HOw to draw manga" books? Not bad for a first try. Except for the fact that he doesn't have a huge scar across his face, he resembles one of my boyfriend's original characters!

If I may make a suggestion for heads: I find it easiest to start with a) the eyes, or b) the general shape I want it to be. None of that line stuff unless I can't get the shape right. Your end product came out very nicely, it's not messed up at all.
