Of Roses and Glitter

I've been working on and off on that picture that I started in October, armed with Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 and a mouse--At the moment, I don't even have the character herself completed yet! Wooow, I give full respect to artists who regularly work in lineless.

WIP post along with a poem made up on the spot because I need a breath of air from University work. It feels nice to be in touch with the inner creativity again.

Wing's a character who represents a rather nostalgic air for me. (Without going into an intro-para-para-para-conclusion essay) I imagine she symbolizes the connection between the word of sparkles and rainbows and the realization and reluctant acceptance that the world simply isn't and probably will never be that way. She takes this truth with dignity and, despite the fact nothing will change when she's gone, fights for the greater good anyways.

I'm doing my best to bring this expression of character to life. Hope I can do it even a fraction of the justice I aim for. =)
