This is one of my older pencil sketches. The scanner has really lightened up all of my shading -_- It even cut off its nail at the bottom of the page. Oh well, let me know what ya think.

I'm suprised at how few comments you hae recieved for this because it's brilliant. Your chocobo looks extremely realistic and the shading and work on testure really bring it to life. You should have more good comments but don't feel bad because I've been using this site for months, especially the Final Fantasy section, and I've only just found this category.
