Blue-and-Gold Girl

A sketch of kind of my mind-concept of my friend & penpal the fox. On one of my rare visits with her we were out shopping and she was wearing this kind of shimmering dark teal blouse, and the sun caught on it and on her hair and lit her up like a jewel. And I had this snatch of an old John Denver song playing on a loop in my head - "Joy was just a thing he was raised on, love was just a way to live and die. Gold was just a windy Kansas wheat field, and blue was just a Kansas summer sky." And since then the song has been kind of tied to her. A sky-blue and wheat-gold girl.

Maybe it sounds silly, but that's where this was coming from.
