I do not do requests, because when I used to, people would comment on one of my pictures saying "Hey this is cool, do you do requests, I want a picture of *insert name here* plskthxbai" Then they'd comment on their requested picture with "this is really cool thanks a lot." And never comment again. Even back then I put a lot of time and effort into my drawings and it wasn't worth it for me to do that on requests. So even though I'm sure not everyone would do that, it's just happened to me too many times. I'm still bitter about it and that was 2 years ago.
I love arttrades though!
I hope you keep up with your art because you really have things going for you. I look forward to seeing pictures of yours in just a few months, when your skill level will have gone up from what you say is now beginner. I can't think of a better way to improve your art than posting it online and looking at others' art in comparision. It really helped me a few years ago!
