Description

A few months ago I received this criticism about my drawings which burned itself into my brain and has always rushed around my mind whenever I've drawn. I've been second guessing myself and giving up a lot quicker.

But now...after this drawing...I think I've conquered that demon. I don't know if it's obvious, but I tried some new things here, construction wise, that I really really like and hope I stick with. And I think he looks quite old...I like that too. XD

So take that Mr.Critic! You lose.

Very nice, great job on the wrinkles! And 15 min? I would be lucky to get like only the eyes done in that time. XD

Thanks. I actually drew it quite small. Smaller than how it appears here. I just increased the size a little. If I drew it at this size it would've taken me longer.

Ahh okay. But on the other side, drawing in smaller size is more difficult, at least for me. :D

I just naturally draw small. I always have to push myself to draw bigger.

The wrinkles are wonderful G! My goodness, you get better and better every single drawing. ^_^ He looks so delightfully Burns. (Delightfully? Maybe I should pick a different word....) XD

Whenever I do a series of drawings, the first ones are usually just me figuring out what I want to do, the ones in the middle get better because I have a plan...and then the ones at the end start to get ugly because I start to get burnt out. =( This one was around the middle. ;)

Thanks. <3 I'm trying not to let it get to me. I always seem to focus on the bad comments. I put some drawings on this site, just to see what the people there thought...and they pretty much tore me a new one. Mostly they didn't say why they didn't like it...but this one guy said my faces were all the same and boring and I should practice more before posting stuff. I didn't take that very well.

But I'm getting over it. =)

At first I was a bit dejected by it all. But I don't worry so much now. I don't think I'd enjoy drawing anymore if I just did it the way some people expected me too. So I'm just sticking with my usual thing...and getting some thicker skin. =P
