Inside he finds a man. A prisoner who has been a guinea pig for medical experiments and intense interrogation.

Clark frees him and his attachable wings and learns he his Carter, from the planet Thanagar...and he has come for Kal-El.

Well, if it's people with big bird wings you're after...there's none in Smallville. XD Just Superman...going through an emo phase. O_O
