An early tenth-century Irish text speaks of Inghen Ruaidh (“Red Girl”), a female warrior who led a Viking fleet to Ireland. This is my take on that person.

TeeJay87Your lovely painting reminds me of the Netflix series about the Vikings I saw last year. While I'm not sure if the show is completely accurate for the Scandinavian part, they told the Ragnar Lothbrok's story quite well, just like his sons fighting for heritage.
The show does have one visible flaw - they depict the Kievan Rus inhabitants as modern Russians (half-Slavic half-Asian, due to Tatar/Asian heritage), while historical sources in Eastern Europe state precisely that the Old Rus in the times of Ragnar and his sons had a similar appearance to the rest of Slavic people (including us, Poles). They gained their Slavic-Asian crossover look after 1238 when they were marrying Tatar and native Siberian women, which led to DNA mixture.

GrokI have not seen all of the Vikings series, just a couple of episodes from the first season. It looked good. Not completely historical of course. That could not be expected and would probably be more boring.
For a start Ragnar Lodbrok is a fictional character, based on a couple of real persons, and then with a lot of added fictional traits.  Very similar to Robin Hood and King Arthur in this aspect.
The "Great Heathen Army" would be a historical event and some people connected to it probably had historical persons behind them. There probably was an Ivar the boneless, though if we could show him the TV series he would probably not recognize himself..
Lagertha comes from Saxo Grammaticus' version and is probably almost completely fictional. But still an interesting character.
Another similar TV series is "the Last Kingdom" based on Bernard Cornewell's books.
Vikings going east I'm a lot less well read on.
