Description
no, this is not a Keilun this is a Qilin* (Kirin) Keilun is his name
this guy came to me in a dream, he was 2.50 meters to the shoulder O__o that's as big as a small giraffe I think. his eyes are messed up tough >< I could not draw them well or capture his expression.
I don't really like the description of this section >< the horse-like unicorn is a modern mistake (a nice one tough ^^U horses rock!) the original unicorns are more deer-like, goat-like and even rhino-like!
hope you like it =)
---------------------------------------
* Qilin Chinese Unicorn, a creature said to live up to 1000 years, with a voice like 1000 wind chimes, walks so soflty it's hooves don't bend the blades of grass below them, it's appearance varies but the "basic" profile of a qilin is a cloven hooved creature with dragon-like scales, they're sometimes represented as having 3 horns: two deer-like antlers and one in the middle (which is not usually straigth nor white)
*Kirin Japanese name for a Qilin, it's pretty much the same creature, but in some places in Japan, Kirins are represented to be more lion-like.

Wow, this is amazing. I really like the details--'specially the way the figure of the creature flows. I read an Avatar fic featuring a Qilin...I am also one of the people who hates the modern view of a unicorn, though I never knew they had dragon scales, or that they could have antlers. I'd always heard of unicorns as white, and having the head of a horse, ears of a rabbit (I think...), the body of a gazell, the feet of a deer, and the tail of a lion. Go figure. I really like your coloring, too--it's very well done. I could never even draw this in two hours, much less color it too! This is definately a favorite.
And, just for reference: in dreams, a unicorn is a sign of a period of beneficial changes.
