It was particularly rainy outside, today, and I brought colored pencils and a sketchbook with me. (Will wonders never cease?) I thought I'd try to re-invent a drippy sort of creature, and thought of the water nixie. The Brothers Grimm caught her for the world to view, but I always felt that "Nixie" inspired a far more fey sort of thing than the rather human looking illustrations cluttering up Google. Ah -- I dated the corner incorrectly. Darn you, January.

IcalatariThank you! Now that I've got some extra distance via time, I realize she looks like a cross between a cow and a frog and an alien. Not sure how well it works together. Fun idea, still.

Dream_Fireany and all, the truth is we know very little about the fae...so if you look into them all and find whats similar, we may find a little truth hidden in the legend :D

IcalatariThank you. :) I think she can walk etc. on water tension despite her large mass because she's fey. It's a bit of a cop-out (Oooh, MAGIC) but it would make sense.
