I fell in love with this beautiful statue of Lucifer the first time I lay eyes on it: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/4b/Lucifer_Liege_Luc_Viatour_new.jpg/250px-...

And I thought to myself, one day I'd like to draw Anubis in the same pose. I took this opportunity to practice realistic shading, was following the statue reference until I reached the chest and arm, I winged it from there < - > I just have this huge love for statues like this. 

Would've finished the detail on this pic, I left it as is because I quite liked the transition between the sketch and the finish =)

luckylace222WHOA! that is a COOL style of seeing strongly yet subtly shaded lineart compared to ssketchy lineart. What a nice concept! I should try the middle=more detailed-outward-more sketchy looK! It is like he is seriously popping out at you! Good work!
