Dance on the volcano

Finally - here comes something "NEW"! - Although this picture is already over a year old...


I was watching a documentary called "Der taumelnde Kontinent" (the staggering continent) on German television, which was showing how people in spent their final few weeks before the outbreak of WWI.

Even though the storm was already coming, clear for almost anyone to see, still the party went on...until the horrible awakening.



This was the longest work I have ever done. That Picture is also slightly larger in size than what I normally do (the original is A3 size) and it took me almost 9 months to finish (with interruptions, of course). The medium is pencil, as usual, and I decided against the use of any coloring or other digital stuff on this. Just old School paper and pencil.


RIP to all those innoncent people who lost their lives, loved ones, youth or / and sanity during this horrifiying War.
