Alright, picture number 2. Bleh, this has lots to go with it. Oh boy. Including the fact that I did the original way back in May of 2009 XP

First off, let me introduce her. For those of you who don’t know, this is Cat Tsuru, Moon_Princess’s YuGiOh OC. She’s probably one of my favorite YGO OCs of all time. I’m so grateful to have gotten to know her and to have had the opportunity to draw her. She’s an adorable character and I love her. You can find Moon_Princess at the following places:

She’s a little inactive here on FAC and also on fanfiction.net, but she’s a really sweet person and I adore her. Give her love and appreciation!

Anyway, moving on. Let’s talk about the technicalities of this picture.

You can see the original here: http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-771047.html though if you ask me, it’s really disgusting and nasty and shouldn’t be looked at XP

I pulled the original up in photoshop (since I don’t have a digital copy of the sketch) and fixed the following: Her facial structure, her eyebrows, her eyes, her nose, her mouth, her chin, her cheek, parts of her bangs on the one side, the hood, her top, the left arm (though it’s longer than the right arm, which makes me mad), added her gloves, her skirt, and her legs just a little bit. That was all in the lineart. The coloring on her boots, top, and skirt are different. The shading and lighting is much better. I put strands and proper highlights in Cat’s hair. I also shortened her hair just a little bit because I had it a little too long before. Yeah, fixed a lot of things.

I also changed the background quite a bit the second time around. Wulf-chan and I decided green goes well with her, so I showered the background with it. I played with the patterns and coloring effects in photoshop to create what you see before you. I think it came out really nice. I really like it.

This totally proves that I really need to draw Cat again. I miss drawing her. And she’s just so dang cute!

If you get a chance to see this, Cat-chan, I hope you like it! And I hope my art style has improved, especially where Cat is concerned!

Thank you all for viewing. Hopefully you’ll all leave me pretty comments that make me feel good. If not, you all suck.

LOVE YOU, CAT!!!

Alexis_HoheimerIn other words, you changed pretty much everything and added more details. :P Haha.
Well, I definitely know you've improved.

KelekiahGaladrianYeah, pretty much. But it's much better than what it used to look like. That's what counts. Now if I could only just draw NEW pictures to color instead of redoing old ones all the time. . . .

Thanks. It's good to know I'm improving. I hope I can get better still because there's still lots I need to work on.

Thank you very much for the comment. It makes me very happy. And it's more than just "Cool" or "Good job" or something similar. Short comments like that drive me up a wall.

Alexis_HoheimerYea, that's pretty annoying. :P (I give out comments like those when I really have nothing else to say, but just want to comment to show some appreciation.)

As for the drawing, did you use just the mouse and the brush tool, or the pen tool? For the background, you can also get some stock or texture photos to use instead of just the filters and patterns that come with photoshop.

KelekiahGaladrianI've only ever really done that once and it was only because that's what this girl did to me. She only ever gave me the same comments and reviews, so I did the same thing to her. We're no longer in contact, I don't look at her art or read her stuff or anything. I don't think she actually really liked me to begin with. So I no longer care.

I have a Wacom pen tablet, so I use that. I prefer the brush tool. It's pressure sensitive, so the lineart sometimes comes out funny XP

I've thought about doing that. Of course, it'd be nice if I could draw normal backgrounds, like buildings and stuff. But I'm no good at it XP
