Remembrance of a Loss

In remembrance, I see thee.
In the light, doth thou see me?
 
In those days, I felt forsaken.
Father, sister, lives were taken.
Now we've grown and know the land,
But still, it's hard to understand.
 
Perhaps, in this quest if we succeed,
Will we have filled some vital need?
If we finish this on the ground,
Far above, wilt thou be proud?
 
Just to hear thine voices once more,
We will do what wasn't done before.
For the memories on thine lives,
We will end forever this dark strife.
