Description

This is a commission for one of the students at the dorms. They gave me $5 to do this though I have no clue what it would be worth. The girl is Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica supposedly. Looked it up a bit and it looks cute, but there is a LOT of baggage it seems on the magical girls and all that. Looks like there is a lot of sexual tension between two of the main girls as well. Hell if I know haha.
It's originally black and white but I added a bit of pink fading in there for Madoka since it is her main color. She reminds me of Strawberry Mew from Tokyo Mew Mew

Oh, fun take on this stuff. ^_^ I just recently watched the series for the first time with my brother... and then read a blog entry running a compare-and-contrast with Omelas... and then went back and watched everything the second time to catch everything i missed. Yeah is can be fluffy and sparkly, but it can also be really darn serious in a "normal life gives way to adventure gives way to hellish despair gives way to ultimate joy" sort of way. :D So it was right down my alley, although I get why the style can definitely be a matter of taste!

"Puella Magi Madoka Magica" sounds quite shoujo.

I like the fade in pink/purple shade!

It's not really a cat I don't think, but it's her companion and I had to add it in because I needed to fill space haha.

I love Madoka's expression. It has some kind of a "shojo-ness" into it. Something I've been wanting to try on my own drawing style. The transition from roses to thorns is a nice touch, especially with the grief seed. Your shading got me first when I looked at this picture; it's really good.

So for those who are wondering what this anime is: It's all fun and games until the end of the 3rd episode. You're welcome. :)

Thank you! The "shojo-ness" was probably made even with my current style because I started out drawing like shojo. As for the transition, I started to actually watch parts of the show before finishing this and I though it would be a symbolism kind of thing considering everything is all fun and game until the feels/pain hits...No one warned me that this anime would hurt ;___;

I don't think I'm going to watch it. I kind of like the back story, but I'm afraid the shoujo aspect will kill my liking for this just like Shujo Chara did for me
