Oh yeah, the Dark Knight Returns baby.

WELL.

This took quite some time, but having had a comment conversation earlier about Frank Miller's Batman, I just couldn't help but get into it.

This sketch has been so much fun.

I didn't really pay too much attention to anatomy, which makes me wonder what I've done in this picture...I went with a vague sense of it, I suppose. uh blatherblather... I like making it up somewhat, I suppose.

Anywho, moving on from my disregard for anatomical reference....

Robin was fun to draw. Well the glasses were kind of a dog, but I got them down alright. It really made me wish I had a ruler, though.

I'm sad that there is a bunch of white space in the background, but even though I would like to create a badass cityscape in that space...I am quite afraid of screwing it up. I can't draw buildings, so I don't think I'll touch it for the time being. Perhaps I'll practice buildings and such in the meantime.

I should also apologize for my lazy version of shading. My issue lies in the fact that the more you shade, the more it's gonna smudge. That, and shading is boring. I prefer scribbling in lines and things to fill up the space. Which is why B-man's cape is not as dark as it should be.

In the end, this was just an attempt at a Frank Miller-esque Batman.

And I had a groovesville time creating it.

Oh yeah, I would also like to add that for some peculiar reason...I can't draw Batman's legs. |D
