"Zizu...?" Unme''s voice, weak and strained, called out for his protector.
The anxiety that had been pitted in his lower belly had began to blossom, and he could feel the fear-infused adrenaline snake its way through his body. What had been that scream earlier...?
His thighs and arms quivered as he climbed off of their sleeping quarters, his eyes dilative in order to see through the blackness that surrounded him.
He studied the shadowed opposite side of the bedroom, making out the doorway, his heart pounding against his pink chest as an agonizingly slow creak began to sound off.
The door began to open.
He stood there, praying that it was his Zizuph.
"...What are you still doing up...?" That low, feminine voice called down to the small Unme, allowing a relieved smile to grace his face. She stood there in all of her seven feet and several inches of glory. His protector. His Zizuph.
"Zizu..."
