I started this just as a quick sketch, which turned into a 3 hour project. The picture is a little blurrier than the actual drawing. The Axl muse has seemed to lit a fire under my @$$. I just can't stop drawing the guy!

Great picture, the expression is pure Axl. Only problem I see with it is that there's not that many strings on a base guitar :P

but yea that is an awesome picture! wonderful shading and pose, and great detail! i love his shirt too hehe. o and great job on the hands! aah realistic hands are incredibly hard (for me anyway) but yours are perfect

Uhh...Axl's not an anime character. I hate anime so would never even think of drawing one. Axl is the lead singer of a real band called Guns N'Roses. Anyways, thanks for the compliments. And, I didn't draw it with charcoal, I used 2B, 4B, and 6B pencils.

How come there are no comments on this yet? I like how u took an anime character and did realism with him. I can draw realism but not freehand, so I find it really impressive that u can do it freehand. Awesome job, especially the hair spilling over the bandana. I'm guessing it was charcoal?
