Description

A project in art class where we had to do something conceptual with the theme of the Holocaust.

The color of the painting is slightly tinged with yellow. Please try and ignore that, since my lights shine more yellow-ish than clear.

That's amazing. I wish I could paint. This reminds me of something you would see in a proffessional art gallery. Keep it up!

Oh, Pauline...it's beautiful. Sad, and very gloomy, but beautiful at the same time. You did an excellent job with all aspects of the pic, and the emotion on the survivor's face and in her body language is intense.

Good job. Sad, but very well done.

(Nice title...too).

Say, have the sock gnomes attacked you recently?

Thanks, Megan! It didn't come out as powerful as I wished, but I'm okay with it.

And, no, the sock gnomes haven't attacked. I started writing a mermaid/siren story, and the form is inspired by the book I just read: East by Edith Pattou. Have you read it?

Alas, I have not. But the title does ring a bell...

I do have to agree with you, though. I think that the emotion of the survivor is really intense, but because she kinda seems--I dunno--faded(?) the picture does lose its visceral quality.

It's still great, nontheless.

Oh yeah...heheh. The colored one is a ghost and the silhouette is one of the survivors coming back. I might also have made them the same person...But I don't even know anymore.
