FirielI read and loved the book, but have not yet seen the movie.
This is a fun El-Ahrairah. :)

TeeJay87My pen friends from the UK showed me the movie on YouTube - I believe it was made accurately after the book, though the amount of violence and gore depicted in this motion picture disqualifies it as something to present kids and people not fond of brutal scenes.

TV series from 1999-2003 are more audience-friendly, though 1999-2000 season is only half-accurate with the book, while 2001-2003 season is nothing but spin-off from the book.

FirielThanks for the info!
The book was fairly violent in the first place, yeah? Fiver's visions, the rabbits near the human lands and the wire snares, infiltrating a totalitarian warren, El-Ahrairah playing dice with Death with body parts at stake? Struck me more as a fantasy for mature children than a hand to a kid at random sort of thing. ;)
I think I would like to check the movie out. It looks like it's an HD rental on Amazon Streaming, might check it out with my sister some evening. :)
As for the series... I'll think about looking into it, sometime when I have a little more pocket movie.

TeeJay87I remember it was - first season of the TV series tried to limit the amount of violence ( as far as I remember, Bigwig got just small scratches from Woundworth in Efrafa) , though the spin-off returned to depiction of brutal scenes:

- http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd515/Adder2/Campion_mistake.jpg Campion after being pinned down in cave; compare with him before the accident http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/watershipdown/images/f/fe/Campion_S1_%26_S2.png/revision/late... ;

- http://img03.deviantart.net/dc4c/i/2006/269/f/d/campion__bigwig_and_woundwort_by_shuvuuia.jpg based on scene from the last episode of season 2;

- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqgh1MlcBY4 typical day at Darkhaven Warren (birthplace of Woundworth) ;

- http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/watershipdown/images/6/63/Granite.jpg/revision/latest?cb=2011... average rabbit from Darkhaven;

- the scene, when Woundworth allows two rabbits to drown in swamp does look quite brutal (thus the cartoon was showed here as PG-12) ;

- same with the episode, when Redstone Warren was lowered to the ground for building. Though at least its inhabitants managed to flee safely.

Episodes from TV series should be available on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooKq34DoiNs
