"The Augurey...is a thin and mournful-looking bird, somewhat like a small and underfed vulture in appearance, the Augurey is greenish-black."<br />

The Augurey also nests in a tear-shaped nest, and emits its mournful screech only when rain is apporaching. Wizards and witches once thought that the cry of the Augurey was an omen of death, but that has since been proven wrong.
