Hello Falcon.
Once you asked some advice about a digital painting program, free and working in  WIN XP.

Have no regrets for Art Weaver, it requires at least Windows 7.

I have been searching Internet for your perfect program.
Finally found one that might fill your needs (and laptop requirements).

- Free, and will always be free.
- No limitation in time, or in features or whatever...
- Works in Win XP
- works smoothly with old laptops
- does not a lot of space on the HD
- does not need a lot of RAM 
- very easy to learn
- intuitive and fun to use

I DL it  (24 MB), and tested it on my laptop.
It worked fine.
It is very easy; I did not have to read the manual.  :-)

sorry I'm no help for that. I hope you get it going though, because it's a good program,  I started using it because I have an apple and no photoshop for it but I like this far better than photoshop in most aspects. 

i have a pc windows xp dell old and sometimes acts wonky i got rid of fire-alpaca it kept having a Japanese pop up site  and the agreement was in Japanese too

All the reviews and comments that I have read about this program are either good or excellent.

But I never trust blindly.
So, I have also tested it,  and everything is all right.
I have not encountered any of the problems that you mention.
My program is in English, it works like a breeze on my old laptop, 
and I don't have any nagging pop ups.

Sorry I cannot help you for that.
Too bad, because it is really a good program,
so I feel sorry that you could not make it work on your own computer.

yeh a pop up for steam and some other site would come up for the fire alpaca then i could close it but a lot of the site showed up in another language the controls are kind of hard to use with my mouse  so i was not sure it was right for me

I never had trouble, but that might be that my computers are apple. I'm sorry it didn't work for you. have you tried Gimp? that's a free program like photoship-ish that a lot of people seem to like. my kids used to use that on widows comps.

gimp i tried twice and neither time it would not wokr  right could not save files and upload them

I like it very much, too.
Actually it is even better than I thought at first sight! ;-)
The content is richer than I thought, and I have seen some very cool features...  :-)

The program is easy and quick to install.
Basically, you just have to click on  "FireAlpaca_setup.exe" to install it.  :-)
And the program is in ENGLISH, and it works very well, even on old laptops or desktops.
No worries, I have tested it.  :D
(I can't speak Japanese, BTW!  LOL)


 

but most of the page was in Japanese even the  agreements was i can't figure out how to get the drawing page part up on it

i have a pc not a laptop it messes up sometimes i don't want to get windows 10 i will see if it will work on my windows xp

I was obsessed with him when I was a teenager, and I used to draw pictures of him all the time. I wanted to draw him again, as a tribute, but I haven't had time. I"m glad you drew him, this is really nice.

I've just read that Dave had liver cancer. Too bad the disease HAD to take him so early.

He was one of the most talented and creative English musicians.
He has experimented so many different styles and genres.
He was like a chameleon.
