Tattooed Angels -Line Art-

Zomg, the line art is FINALLY done. This took forever to do. Each of the characters had 4-5 layers for the line art itself, not counting the layers I made for each of Yanagi's tattooes. Lucifer's shirt looks freakishly plain, but will have details added to it when I've colored it. ...I dread coloring this.<br />

I started drawing this a long time ago, and it's a (very late) Christmas present for my friend, Fearie. The inspiration came from the song Bullet-proof Skin by Institute, off the Stealth soundtrack, and the first part in particular was what stuck out. It goes:<br />

Cool to disappear but<br />
I missed you most days<br />
And army of tattooed angels<br />
Have brought me back today.<br />

So, what we have here is Lucifer reaching out for his angelic wife, Yanagi. He's being pulled back by the four archangels, Michael (on his leg), Uriel (on his reaching arm), Raphael (on his other arm), and Gabriel (on his hair). Yanagi's upper half is going to be covered in tattoos when I finish this (even though she doesn't have any tattoos at all, lol). She's also going to be disappearing. Ah, so much symbolism.<br />

One more thing: all the archangels in this picture are male. Angels are androgynous; and I don't subscribe to their having genders. Anything genderless is generally assumed to be male, so I've just made them that way. Don't give me grief over the fact that tradition has Uriel and Gabriel being female. As far as I'm concerned, they aren't.
