After reading the fifth Harry Potter book I couldn't resist drawing one. This was my first attempt at an entirely digital piece. It was sketched and colored entirely in photoshop. I used a plastic skeleton horse model from Warhammer for a reference.

Wow, nice! Again, good for a first digital pic. Also, I like how you added highlights to show the skeletal-ness. It's enough to give you the idea it's all like that, without overwhelming you. You know what I mean?
Oh, and that's pretty much how I imagined them, too. ^_^

Very very creepy, yet cool. :) I imagine them differently, prettier I guess, but that's just me. Great job on the shading.

Very good, especially for your first time on a digital pic. I'm afraid this isn't how I imagine thestrals though. They're something like this crossed with a mesmerize from Final Fantasy 8. That's the best explanation I have. It would help if I could draw it but it's too hard. I still really like your version though. Good job.
