Description

A labor of love - between 12-14 hours work from a movie still from Arcadia of My Youth (or My Youth in Arcadia or Vengance of the Space Pirate). The Space Pirate, Captain Harlock and his beloved Maya (the voice of Radio Free Arcadia) At the moment of her death. For as many times as I have seen both the Japanese and American versions of this anime I have never seen this image. Worked on from a photo still. All original work, hand drawn and shaded with graphite pencil. Original approximately 18x24. Captain Harlock is (c) to Reiji Matsumoto and no copyright infringement is intended or implied.

I must agree with the 'labor of love' comment. It certainly shows! (I could never have pulled it off....It would have ended up as an unrecognizable grey smear if I'd tried drawing a pic like this!) ^ ^;;;;;

At least Harlock is finally starting to get the recognition he deserves on this site! (It's a big relief to see more fanart of him!)
