J'era Kai

The living planet, created by an unknown alien race as a sanctuary, but it was abandoned. This planet is doomed to die, the sun is large and bright, nearing death. The planet itself is a giant animal soon to die of age. And with the absence of a Jupiter, a collision with a meteor would be devastating.
The life forms of J'era Kai are unique. The predators are actually generated from the planet to fight off bacterial life forms, that feed on the grass hair of the planet (the animal feeds on sunlight). They have proboscises that allow them to feed like flies. The way they see is yet unknown. J'era Kai is the only life supporting planet that does not support sentient beings.
