Catty Cornered in Ghouliefornia by TeeJay87

Completed version of and follow-up of DelilahxIan series:

with our feline heroes travelling through Ghouliefornia - terrible part of the Western Coast of the United States, where bad guys rise from the dead and harass innocent people. Hopefully, Ian and Delilah have good means of dealing with those monsters.

The title is based on Tom & Jerry cartoon from 1966 , while the picture was inspired by this pulp art cover

All those depicted ghouls/zombies are not supposed to resemble anyone particular. Their similarity towards living people is not intended.

Delilah belongs to Warner Bros
Ian belongs to me

TeeJay87Thanks. Looks like a movie poster, doesn't it ?

alitta2Awesome one, I really like it, especially the board with the fictional town names in the background :)

TeeJay87Thanks - most of those towns are puns of Californian cities:

- Necropolis - that's how Bakersfield, CA, is called in Fallout 1;

- Los Gangbangeres - nickame for Los Angeles I've made up (because of Cripps, Bloods and dA admins)

- Curst Diego - San Diego over-run by leftists;

- City of Fallen Angel - from Los Angeles name in Fallout 1;

- Oozeland - from Oakland, CA;

- San Freakcisco - my American pen friends call San Francisco in that way.

alitta2Yes, I could notice the origin of puns ;)
I like calling cities by puns, I especially liked Oozeland here :)

TeeJay87From what I've heard, Oakland is the third biggest den of criminals in the entire California Bay (after Los Angeles and San Francisco), where locals hate policemen with similar passion like Brazilian mobsters from Rio de Janeiro favelas. Since nothing better matched, I've gone for "Oozeland". :D

Forgot to say: this movie shows the atmosphere of slums ruled by thugs and mechanisms of anarchy some of those leftists strive for - it turns into reign of violence and terror.

alitta2Thanks for the link! I hadn't heard about the movie before, but I've heard stories about the notorious favelas, where it is not recomended to walk alone (honestly, who would do so?).

TeeJay87Since certain people have pleasure in visiting hostile places like North Korea or Afghanistan, there are also amateurs of favelas.

Notable example is Otto Warmbier, who has recently been sentenced to 15 years of hard labor for attempt in stealing Northern-Korean propaganda banner in public .

TeeJay87Cats or zombies ? ;)

SaltwaterBoth are great.
Here I was speaking of the zombies,
which are very representative of these Cali Ghouls,
some of us were unlucky to be on their way and had to deal with them.....

TeeJay87Thanks, I was partially inspired by this picture from Fallout 2, though the design of ghouls/zombies is from Fallout 3/New Vegas.

TeeJay87Almost like one of Rob Zombie's films or "The House of the Dead" videogames, don't you think ?

Saltwater on October 21, 2015, 12:45:15 PM

SaltwaterI have never watched any zombies or horror films;

But it looks very much like the zombies posters or covers I may have seen here and there...  ;-)

Very well done!

TeeJay87I've seen couple of them - some are indeed scary, some rather silly, but anyway, it's not my cup of tea. I prefer war films (about WW2 and later conflict) and good comedies.

Actually, I used this image as reference; you may have noticed I replaced Winchester M1 carbine in the original pulp art cover with M14, since it makes better choice for weapon in my opinion.
