Feline Warrior Delilah by TeeJay87

Completed version of - Delilah drawn in dark-elvish styled plate armour and wielding long sword from "Baldur's Gate 2" .

Work inspired by Francis Tsai's painting depicting dark elves from Dungeons & Dragons ; as you can see, Delilah's pose was based on female elf in right part of the painting.

Delilah belongs to Warner Bros.

TeeJay87Dark elves from Dungeons and Dragons campaign settings Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk often wear such armors, just fashioned with spiders and web motifs. Some examples are below:

- reference I used

- one of modules written by Gwendolyn Kestrel - see pages 1 ( three warriors) and 13 (priestess enchanting a ring).

I've intentionally omitted such spider emblems, since Delilah isn't one of those Spider Kissers ( worshipers of Lolth the Spider Queen ) and I've thought that elvish weaponry would match catfolk in Medieval setting.

MorpherDefinitely looks great in color! I really like how her chain mail looks; like dragon scales!

TeeJay87It's supposed to look crafted like that - some Arabian chain mails from 11th and 12th century were also made of tiny steel circles, giving it look like dragon skin. The design was later copied in Europe, when Crusaders brought trophy armors and presented those to their blacksmiths.

Guess that's where Gary Cygax and the rest of DnD team got inspiration for their armor designs.

TeeJay87Thanks, though the armor isn't classic one - for the first time I've seen such crafted plates in 1998 in "Baldur's Gate 1" ( 2nd D&D Edition).

Genuine European plate armors from 14th, 15th and 16th Century were never crafted that way, apparently because vast majority of the wearers were males.
