Description
My dog Brandy's birthday is on December 15th. This is a tribute to her. However, a bit may need to be explained.
I always openly considered Brandy my sister. That basenji was more like a human than most humans I knew. Even though I'd known and even had dogs before, this one was special...
She had to be put to sleep in 1999, because she had an incurable kidney disease. The single saddest day of my life.
About 2003, I had a dream. A woman maybe a year or two older than I approached me, telling me she was my sister. She briefly became Brandy at points in the dream. She said her name was Elizabeth Grace, and that she had come back as Brandy to check up on the family.
When I told my mom about this, she revealed to me that I had an older sister who died before I was born. Her name was Elizabeth Grace.
For the next few years, I have had occasional dreams where Elizabeth/Brandy appear to give me advice.
This drawing is a tribute to both incarnations of her.

Wow that's so sad. Sorry she had to put to sleep. I had a dream once that when I was little I had a nail in my foot. In the dream I fell asleep in the car and woke up to see doctors pulling out the nail. My mom told me that when I was little we went vacation and when I was going to the pool barefooted I got a big splinter in my foot. When we got to the car I fell asleep and woke in the hospital.
