I hope I have this in the right category, since Vermin is a Spider-Man villain...

I had started this a few days ago while on my lunchbreak at work and reading a Spider-Man comic. I was originally going to keep this as a simple line sketch, but then I just had to try inking his face and it grew from there.

This was copied from Astonishing Spider-Man #80 which was a Fear Itself chapter.

Pen + Photoshop

Vermin is (c) of Marvel

luckylace222MAN....even his name had to sound evil. ;__; Somehow, I felt bad for the guy after watching Spiderman 1 (NOT THE OUTSTANDING SPIDERMAN TERRIBLE ADAPTATION).

TrissI've never heard of The Outstanding Spider-Man, but I think I'll avoid it like the plague if it's really that bad!

Vermin is a bit of a tragic villain who was physically and sexually abused by his father, and he's usually forced to fight by other supervillains. He really only fights by himself if he's threatened. He's like a frightened wild animal in that respect.

TrissI drew this in my little moleskine sketchbook and the pages of it are a pale yellow colour, so I used photoshop to adjust the levels and turn the background white, and make the ink look darker.

And thank you :) I kept fretting about screwing it up when I was doing the shading, particularly on the fur. Just another thing to work on!

_ren_tao_fan_Ooh, I like the comic book style!
Some of the best pictures start out as sketches.
