For the past few days, besides working on my Gargoyles requests, I worked on colouring my drawing of Nayru on the side. This morning I had finished all the colouring and re-inking, so I sprayed it with hairspray to act as a fixative (well, I can't use the expensive stuff all the time!) After a couple of minutes, I glanced over at the drawing to see if the hairspray had dried in much, and I noticed that Nayru's eye had melted 
I'm not too sure but I guess I must have held the spray far too close to the paper and it blasted right into the eye, but I've never had this happen before. I was not happy, to say the least, after all the work I had put into it. I could fix this in Photoshop but that would be cheating, I feel.
So I'm posting this as a warning to others: DON'T SPRAY SO BLOODY CLOSE TO THE PICTURE OR THIS HAPPENS!

I disagree... I think it still looks great. Adds character and something "different" to her. Just saying... nice work.

Well thank you, that's very kind of you :) I plan to re-do the whole thing in Photoshop and turn it into a digital drawing. I would do it all over again with ink and pencil, but the pencils I used the first time round are nearly stubs now :/Falconlobo on July 29, 2015, 5:19:25 PM
