I love the story that goes along with this picture.
En route to Yellowstone National Park, there is a sleepy village in the midst of luscious grass, budding flowers, and dwarfing mountains. In this town, an artist fell in love with the landscape and settled down. He owns a cozy bunch of cottages he calls "Hoback Village."
Looking for a place to stay the night, I found the village and happened upon a simple magazine with a rabbit printed on the front. I registered the magazine as a source of drawing inspiration, which is pretty rare to run across on vacation. I asked the artist if I could borrow the magazine. He was a kind, old cowboy and let me keep it.
That night, I drew the rabbit which had sky-rocketed my inspiration levels earlier that evening. The following morning, I heard the agonizing struggle of my car's engine as it failed to start. It was the middle of no where, and all I had was a car which couldn't ever start it's engine. The artist was nice enough to give me a jump off his truck. I was thankful for one more chance to speak with the man. I gave him my drawing of the rabbit as thanks for his hospitality.
The moral of the story: If you ever stop at Hoback Village on your way to Yellowstone, ask the inn keeper about a rabbit drawing. ;]
