that's so cute it would be sort of sad to eat it but it probably tastes yummy too. I love his expression he looks like he's afraid someone is gonna eat his cupcake

What are the gold covered pieces made of?

It's white fondant, painted with a special golden paint which can be eaten. Fondant is a kind of icing-like stuff used to decorate or make sculptures on cakes. :-)

I didn't realise that was fondant as well... somehow the gold paint makes it look crispier.
