These Bloody Hands

If you're read my Shadow Hearts fic ( [link]) I mentioned that I was going to use one of the former characters in the story. Even though he could be an idiot, Joachim Valentine grew on me. Only problem is that personality-wise he sticks out like a sore thumb in a gothic series like Shadow Hearts let alone that him and his family are the least vampiric vampires I've ever seen. (They don't even bite anyone's neck and are immune to light.)

I theorized that the Valentine family must've gotten a special blessing (light immunity, no blood lust, reproduction, etc) for their history of good deads. Now what if someone in the family were to lose this blessing (for example: killing an innocent) got me thinking of a possible scenerio: A village child with psionic powers is possessed by a malicious demon and the Valentine family has to team-up to stop him. The demon-kid then holds the entire village hostage, threatening to psionicly command them to slit their throats unless the vamps surrender. When they do, the demon laughs that he lied and is about to command the villagers to kill themselves when Joachim regretably stops him by sneaking up and snapping the host body's neck. Only problem is that the demon jumped out of his host boy second before it died causing Joachim to lose the family blessing.

Joachim's personality has tonned down since the event costed him his innocence, but he still trys to stay cheerful and optomistic despite the fact that the rest of the family are now forced to hunt him down and destroy him. (He now wears a magical cloak that protects him from the sun.) I wanted to go for a minimalist pallate and I realized that drawing hands is not my strong suit.
