OC: Mercedes Ref Sheet

New character I've been working on for the past week and a half.

Mercedes is a cadet working for "The Government" which is basically this empire that started on a particularly prosperous planet, took control there and over time expanded its power throughout the galaxy. The Government renamed the first planet Maytre and afterwards changed others to the same name, following them with numbers. Mercedes lives on Maytre II, the second planet to fall into The Gov't's hands. These planets are the political centers of the empire but nearly every planet is under the control of The Gov't. Within it's sphere of influence, there are four classes of people as well as a category for those with no class at all-- the people who don't work for the G. When a person joins the G, they automatically become a 1st class citizen. They are given a uniform, red and black, with markings that comply with a theme of "one". Some people are given the opportunity to advance to 2nd class, usually because of some coveted ability they possess, but not often. They're given extra priveleges, rights, and a new uniform, conforming to a theme of "two". Rarer still is to advance to 3rd class. This really only happens if a person's assets are extremely rare and indespensible or one of the higher ups deems it necessary for the person to hold a higher position. 3rd class citizens also get a change in uniforms and usually do not take part in any fighting. As for 4th class, nearly 100% of the cases in which people make it to this position have a lot to do with underhanded dealings. In this class, people can basically do whatever they hell they want. On a whole, the G is pretty corrupt but much too powerful and large to do anything about. Some groups fight back against it, but the government has billions upon billions of soldiers and weapons to quench most efforts against them.

Mercedes has been working with the government for 10 years. For the first 8 years he was a first class citizen, partaking in combat missions. One of the superiors eventually discovered Mercedes had a photographic memory and the ability to sense whether somebody was lying or telling the truth. A person with a "photographic memory", by G terms, is able to store and recall a scene in time so vividly that it's possible to extract the images with a computer and analyze them. This is handy for secrets that the G would not risk being stored on a memory chip for fear of theft or hacking. So now Mercedes joins the ranks of combat squads as an undercover agent, appearing to be another troop while actually recording the procedings of a scene. Sometimes he doubles as an interrogator.

As a person, Mercedes is not the most friendly guy. He doesn't trust people that much so he basically stays to himself a lot of the time. He's not completely humorless though, and he does appreciate a good time when it comes a long, he just may not show it well. More than anything, he'd like somebody he could rely on. Unfortunately, this puts a damper on his outlook seeing as he's quite aware that one can not even count on somebody to live through the week in his environment.
