In the next book, Dervish loses his mind and sends them all to an orphanage while Bran's out shopping for more bananas.
This year the orphanage could only afford one scarf for every two children... Grubbs and Kernel are fighting over the scarf they have to share somewhere else. But I don't know if this really counts as sharing considering... Bec and Bill's "situation".
