The basic idea came from the similar stretchy voices they both have, and also Cheese's behavior when he gets a potato (thinking that it has a taste of soap), and doesn't want to lose it :D

Wow! That's really cool! I think Gollam is one of the best characters in the movie and fuse Cheese and him together is a great idea!;D
