The song "Sommáját írom Eger várának"(I write the story about the Castle of Eger) by Sebestyén Tinódi Lantos inspired me to draw this. He was one of the most famous Hungarian lyracist, epic poet and minstrel of the 16th century. This song was written in the years of the Turkish invasion in Hungary as a propagandastic song which expressed the need to resist the Turks.

The meaning of the song by and large is the following:
I write the story about the Castle of Eger,
Its occupation and glorious battle,
The shameful faith of the sultan's army,
The great solace of the Hungarian king.

Hope you like it!

"The need to resist the Turks and their shameful faith" and to the muzz in general is still a very important priority nowadays!

WH2007Yay! Another original Foster's fanart! It's really good. I know the story of the castle - I've visited it a couple of times when travelling across Hungary ;)

alitta2It's not from Foster's, but from Johnny Test.
Anyway I've been also there, the castle became a symbole for the Hungarian resistance that time. That's the cause why the book "Egri csillagok" (Stars of Eger) is so popular as well as the movie which is based on the book.
