I've successfully passed my high school exams for some days (even they were bloody hard), so I can submit new pictures like this one from now on ;)

About the car: it's Fiat 850, that was made between 1964 and 1972. It was powered by a modified Fiat 600 engine that's capacity was increased to 843cc. The 850 came in two versions: "normale" with 34hp and "super" with 37hp.
Many variants were developped from the main type with several body styles such as the Familiare, the Coupé/Sedan or the Spider. All of them had similar technical components.
The type was widespread in Europe (even in the Eastern Bloc), but it was also buyable in South America, notably in Brasil.
An interesting fact about the car, that the original plans of it were sold to Simca company, which later processed them and started to produce its successful type, the Simca 1000.

Hope you like it ;)

alitta2Thanks!
The background was inspired by a schooltrip to Sopron back in my high-school years :)

WH2007Awesome! That's a nice choice of car to draw :) They weren't very popular in Poland, as 126p and Zastava 750. I've noticed that they were more popular in Czechoslovakia. I love how later they've changed the body of the car and renamed it Fiat 131 - it looks just like 126p XD

Congrats on passing your exam!

WH2007Oops! I've meant Fiat 133, not 131. Sorry!

alitta2Thanks much and no probs ;) And yeah, the 133 looks like a bigger 126p. Was it made by FSO (or FSM) too?
By the way, the car was also popular in my country along with the Coupé version, especially in the late 60's, but nowadays both of them are real curio.

WH2007No, 133 wasn't even imported to Poland at all. Recently, there was one for sale at the auction.

BTW Those buildings in the backround of this picture look strangely familiar to me, especially the tower. Were they based on some real ones?

alitta2Yes, you're right: it's the main square of Sopron. The tower in the background is the Firetower of the city hall, that was built in the 12th century. I spent a day there during a schooltrip last year, and I thought that a picture from the square would match to the car, even parking is forbidden there in real life XD

alitta2Oh, and the building to your left is the Storno house, which works today as a museum.

WH2007I've never been to Sopron but I recognize the characteristic architectural style for the region - I've seen almost identical towers are in Bratislava and Trencin. The Żywiec cathedral is pretty similar too :)
