Description

LuAZ 969 was a small four-wheel drive off-road vehicle made between 1979 and 1992 in the town of Lutsk in the former USSR (today it is located in Ukraine). It was mainly developped for military use, but after the end of its production, the vehicle turned to be available for civilian use as well. It had several updated versions later, such as the type 1302, that was produced specifically for civilians between 1988 and 2001. The vehicle was not exported as far as I know, and was popular only in some of the countries of the former USSR, mostly in Ukraine, where it may be seen on Off-road races nowadays.

Hope ya like it :D

WH2007Rare but interesting car. The Celma Company in the Polish city of Cieszyn bought the rights to produce Luaz under tne name Wilk (Wolf) 4x4. They improved the car but almost nobody bought it.

alitta2Thanks for the info, I haven't heard about that model. Was the Luaz itself exported to Poland, or there were only the ones that the company produced by license and under the name Wilk?

WH2007I think it wasn't imported. Another factory DAMIS produced a slightly improved ZAZ Tavria.

alitta2Hmm, I wonder that Tavria was made under license, but it's fact that it was a bit more popular back then, even I still can see some of them on the road in my homeland.
BTW, shall I modify the description or I can leave as it is written now? You know, I'd like to share correct infos (not but that anyone else is interested about the vehicle except some of us :P)

WH2007I don't know if you should update the info. In my opinion it' not a very important fact. They've only made few of them. I'm interested in it because it's quite a rarity and I live near Cieszyn.

alitta2Yeah, I know, that's why I wrote "some of us" ;)
BTW, I've found a site of Russian paper car models yesterday where are also the ones about Luaz 969 and its improved versions, for example the pickup and the ambulance car concepts:
