TeeJay87Japanese soldiers in WW2 were known to enjoy poisonous snakes as meal - they cooked the dead reptiles, except its liver, which was eaten raw. One IJA (Imperial Japanese Army) colonel claimed, that such diet was supposed to reinforce soldiers' fighting skills.

This could explain their cruelty in WW2. ;)

alitta2I haven't heard about this, but it is possible, since they were short of food supplies, so they ate whatever they've found, especially those who hid themselves in the jungle for several months, or even years in some cases :)
Anyway, the idea came from a can of grilled rattlesnake, that I've seen a picture on Google sometime :)

TeeJay87Mary should've looked for something like solid stick to crush the snake's head - deserts in Northern America are often full of skeletons left by animals starved to death.

Let's hope they find ammo supplies in following pages. ;)

alitta2Maybe they could run away from the snake to two other ways, or just divert the snake's attention while one of them searches a bone or a stick you mentioned, but at the time when they faced the death, it was the most prompt but still efficient way to kill the snake :)
