Although I wasn't really active regarding submission of pictures in 2021 (as I'm still working on the last chapter of Bloody Mary, which is going to be one of the longest, making it a worthy ending), I haven't forgotten to make the usual new years picture.

I didn't have much free time in the past days, but I came up with this idea just yesterday.
The inspiration came from my current job, as one of my tasks is to check the gas-, water- and electrical meters in the office once in every month and then count the expected maintenance fees upon them for the finance department before the actual invoice arrives for each of them.

This actual gas-meter is based on one that I found on Google, which uses the American-format, simply it has only 4 digits that suits better for my New Year idea (the European one has a lot more digit).

As for the title, it is not coincidental, as the gas prices will be higher in many parts of Europe because of the so called "Gas crisis".

Despite the seemingly pessimistic title and picture, I still wish Happy 2022 for everyone!

P.S.: I uploaded this pic on at 1:08 am 01/01/2022 (GMT +1:00)

TeeJay87We're also having gas crisis in Poland - the increases here are said to reach 54%, though I won't be amazed if the prices rise higher.

Let's hope the Winter 2021/2022 isn't a cold one.

alitta2Right now it seems so - I mean it's relatively hot these days (around 10oC, which is not bad at all), so I hope this will keep going.
Just today I did a calculation for one of our departments, and revealed that in the same period of December of 2020, we had to pay for the overall consumption about 800 thousand Forints more than in 2021.
Although January has just begun, not to mention February, I'm kinda optimistic regarding the future months :)
Also, the gas prices are currently frozen due to the governmental decree that will last reportedly until October - probably because of the upcoming elections in April this year :D

alitta2Today just revealed that I miscalculated, as I've just been informed that the gas price has been already changed in October (unlike for other public services like electricity, sewage network and water supply changes in the beginning of each year).

I just got the authority in the system we use for viewing electrically submitted invoices and I just got to know that. Unfortunately I had to re-do the calculation from October to December, as the unit price change is quite significant :(

TeeJay87In the Polish case, Russian policy is the main culprit - Putin manipulates the gas prices as he pleases, with harm for Gazprom customers.

alitta2Thanks, but the Gas crisis doesn't really effect Hungary at this time as much as other parts of Europe. This is because the elections will be held in April, and the government artificially froze the price reportedly until October - but surely at least until the end of the elections ^^

Saltwater              Happy New Year Adrián!

So called "Gas crisis"
My feeling too.
Because, once again this is a crisis created from scratch.
They thoroughly planned, implemented and instrumented this brand new "crisis",
as well as all the previous ones.
But for ordinary people, it is one more burden, on top of everything else.

alitta2Yeah, we all know why this "Gas crisis" is going on - or let me say, because of which actors in this play (just a hint: one's name begins with G or R, actually both can be considered the same :D).
