If you aren't trying to offend someone, starting out with what's wrong with you probably isn't the best thing you can do. I'm very much offended. There is nothing wrong with me, I just think the coupling is cute. If you don't like something, you probably shouldn't post it. Hate wastes space.
-To answer your question though: In the series, no they aren't gay, but it's a very popular fan-paring. The writer, himself, said that it wasn't true, but it was a good idea. It made me laugh a bit ^.^
