Another sketch book assignment. Ok, down here people adore this Cajun artist named George Rodrigue and believe his art is the greatest- well it is NOT. His art sucks and if I were to say that in front of any of my teachers or older adults I would probably get smacked or somethin’. *sigh* His most famous piece is the “Blue Dog” (as you can see). There was nothing else in the picture but a plain, solid colored background and that was it. But what we had to do was take the Blue Dog and place it in our own environment. I despise this artist with a fiery, burning passion, so I decided to put it in a graveyard, well, a dog cemetery. As I was finishing up the coloring, my art teacher passed by and started laughing; she thought it was cute. When she stated that I looked at it a little closer and agreed—I really hadn’t expected it to look so cool. This picture is now meant to be humorous or convey my displeasure of Rodrigue. I hope you agree also. Oh and this was my first time using perisma colors on a large scale, so my coloring in this picture is a little funny—I know.

AmeliaVonStrangleOh my GOSH! I know exactly what you're talking about! His work looks to me like it's out of something from Blue's Clues! Though, that may just be because he draws blue dogs all the time. Hmmm...and all of his dogs are the same! Sorry, I could go venting on about this for hours. But on to the review of the actual pictures...

This is awesome! And morbidly cute. I love the bat and the crow, and the little angel thingies flying in the background. And the dogs, of course, look awesome. Amazing job!
